RotoShoot is an iOS application we developed to enable iPhone users the ability to easily photograph and share multiple perspectives of large and small three dimensional subjects in 360°.
During our limited beta release, people around the world captured and shared RotoShoot’s of a wide variety of objects such as cars, jewelry, handbags, etc.
However, we were surprised to discover a large number of users were making RotoShoots of cosplayers in their costumes and selling various unrelated items online.
So we decided to build a modular pop-up ‘RotoBooth’ to quickly capture and share cosplayers in their favourite costumes at multiple cosplayer conventions in Vancouver while at the same time show potential users how easy it was to download the app and make and share their own RotoShoot’s.
And for those who wished to get a keepsake of themselves in their costume, we offered an on-demand, 3D printing service to produce a full color, physical model they could put on their desk or shelf.
Although the app is no longer available, RotoShoot was the World’s first mobile, end-to-end 360º shoot and share solution.
